Prostate cancer has a high incidence in Cuba and worldwide, being the most frequent solid tumor and the second leading cause of death in men today. The safest and most effective way to perform the pre-surgical diagnosis of prostate cancer is through transrectal biopsy. Adding the possibility of performing it under ultrasound guidance significantly increases its diagnostic sensitivity, with high specificity, affordability, and safety regarding potential complications of the procedure.
