The Nazca Lines are geoglyphs, large figures depicting animals, people, and abstract patterns. They are carved into the earth. To date, archaeologists have discovered approximately 900 lines, spanning an area of ​​500 km². To this day, they remain an unexplained phenomenon and one of history's greatest mysteries. Thousands of people must have created them over generations. They are located in desert areas where daytime temperatures are very high. Carving these carvings into the earth required enormous dedication from the ancient civilization. Researchers have many theories attempting to explain this one of history's greatest mysteries. Some say the patterns form an astronomical calendar or a map of the sky. Others say the patterns are part of an irrigation system. There are also those who believe the Nazca Lines were created by an extraterrestrial civilization, aliens. Most scientists believe the Nazca Lines were procession routes, and religious ceremonies and rituals were performed at the sites of the drawings. It is said that sacrifices were made there.
