Zigui County in Yichang, Hubei is the hometown of Qu Yuan. The Dragon Boat Festival here is more important than the New Year, and the festival lasts throughout the fifth month of the traditional Chinese calendar. From the mugwort leaves and Zongzi at the morning market, to the dragon boat races in the river, the folk activities at the Qu Yuan Temple, the dragon and lion dances in the county, and the shadow play under the county gate, the people here commemorate Qu Yuan in their own way. Of course, you can't miss the local food when you come to Zigui.
