Chikmagalur-Yesvantpur Inaugural Spl on Lakya Viaduct!

4 November 2014. Almost exactly a year after Chikmagalur got its first train, the second train rolled out, decorated beautifully. KJM WDM3A 16586 was in charge and the loco pilots acknowledged our presence with one short blast of that ear-splitting horn. This is the 56277/78 Chikmagalur-Yesvantpur-Chikmagalur Fast Passenger and departs from CMGR at 0730hrs with arrival time at YPR being a distant 1415hrs. On the return leg, the train departs from YPR at 1515hrs., and arrives at CMGR at 2220hrs. Timings seem to be way off the mark especially compared to buses, and existing trains on the Kadur-Bangalore section, so patronage won't be something to boast about.
