ZOOLÓGICO DE CALI

The Cali Zoo, founded in 1969, is located in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, within the municipal forest and on the banks of the Cali River. This zoological park is home to approximately 2,500 animals belonging to 233 species, including amphibians, mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, and butterflies. Covering a total area of 25 hectares—of which 9 hectares are designated as a visitor area—the zoo offers a tour of approximately 1.5 kilometers. Along the route, visitors can observe wildlife in habitats designed to simulate their natural environments, promoting animal well-being and providing a more enriching educational experience. In addition to its recreational function, the Cali Zoo is known for its educational, conservation, and research programs aimed at protecting Colombian biodiversity. These initiatives seek to raise environmental awareness and foster respect for all forms of life, actively contributing to the sustainability of the natural environment. Considered one of the best zoos in Latin America, the Cali Zoo is a vital space for environmental education, species conservation, and the enjoyment of nature in an urban setting.
