Cheap vs Expensive Reverb : Lexicon PCM70 vs Korg DRV1000
A huge part of creating a good sound is characterized by the culmination of context and application. A cheap reverb can't do what an expensive reverb does but the opposite can also be true. Many limited frequency sound sources benefit from the additional character imparted by low-fi effects, so with that in mind, we set out to sonically observe the differences between a Korg DRV1000 and a Lexicon PCM70 back to back. The guitar I'm playing is a 1996 Hamer Artist Custom strung up with D'Addario 11s and I'm playing through the Grammatical GSG model amplifier in the Helix with the reverb units looped between the amp block and the dual cab block.
