Trees... they're always a tricky thing. The trees you buy ready-made are often too small and ugly. Beautiful trees from small manufacturers cost a fortune. I need about 100 trees in N scale. That's why I make them myself, and I'll show you step by step how I do it. In this video, I first make deciduous trees, then conifers, and finally some shrubs. I make the trees in N scale, but you can do the exact same thing in H0 or other scales. Conifers You'll need: → 0.35 mm binding wire → 1 mm iron wire → Roundwood → 6 and 2 mm grass fibers, any color is acceptable → RAL 7013 spray paint → 0.5 pine green grass fibers → Superglue → Spray adhesive Steps: → Cut the roundwood to length and sand it to a point → Drill the trunk and make lengthwise grooves with a saw blade → Glue the iron wire into the underside → Glue the binding wire into place and cut to shape → Apply 6 and 2 mm grass fibers with spray adhesive and grassing agent → Spray paint → Apply short green fibers with spray adhesive and grassing agent → Drybrush the trunk → Optionally, airbrush a small amount of yellow or lighter green from above The sketch with the You can find drill holes here: www.floodland.nl/aim/pdf/Boomtemplate.pdf Deciduous trees You'll need: → 0.35 mm binding wire → 1 mm iron wire → Fimo clay → Grass fibers 12, 6, and 2 mm, any color → Deciduous tree foliage, grind finer with a blender or coffee grinder if necessary → RAL 7013 spray paint → Spray adhesive Steps: → Wrap the binding wire and twist it into a tree with 1 mm wire in the trunk → Make the clay trunk and bake it; Soften the clay with water. → Apply 12 mm (2x), 6 mm (1x), and 2 mm (1x) grass fibers with spray adhesive and grass remover. → Spray paint. → Apply foliage with spray adhesive. → Drybrush the trunk. → Optionally, airbrush a small amount of yellow or lighter green from above.
