Its rugged coastline. The Hebrides, Skye, Orkney, Shetland, quiet fishing villages, lonely lighthouses and the endless Atlantic have shaped this country for centuries just as much as the Highlands. As someone who grew up by the sea, I have always felt a special connection to the coast. Perhaps that's why Scotland's shoreline has always fascinated me. Doch Schottland hat noch ein zweites Herz. Seine raue Küste. Die Hebriden, Skye, Orkney, Shetland, kleine Fischerdörfer, Leuchttürme und der unendliche Atlantik prägen das Land seit Jahrhunderten genauso wie die Highlands. Da ich selbst ein Küstenkind bin, hat mich das Meer schon mein ganzes Leben begleitet. Vielleicht hat mich genau deshalb die schottische Küste immer so fasziniert.
