Pontiac 400 Rebuild Continues! Post Cam Break In Inspection!
Well this tale just refuses to end with our customers 400 Pontiac powered 1979 Pontiac Trans Am however it seems like we MIGHT be on the good side finally! After eating the first Comp Cams flat tappet camshaft on break in, we blew the motor back apart and assessed where we were and how bad the damage was. A whole lot of cleaning, reconditioning the heads, all new gaskets and bearings, and we were ready to go for round 2 of the break in. So, today we found out how that went! On a lot of automotive youtube channels you'll find folks just throwing things together with used parts, or pouring a little automatic transmission fluid down a cylinder and trying the whole Will it run thing. That's not us, if it's going to be a vehicle that have our name on we have to make sure it's right, like really right. Not good enough. Right. As one of the premiere independent automotive shops in the Ohio region we take pride in what we do and the work we turn out. So, how did the cam break in go?
