Neilson & Co 2937 Returns To Steam After 43 Years! | Chasewater Railway 60th Anniversary Gala

From 23rd August - August 31st, the Chasewater Railway held a 9 day long gala to celebrate their 60th Anniversary. The event saw an extensive timetable with different locomotives running each day, there were both passenger and freight trains operating during the event. Amongst the locomotives in action were the lines operational home fleet and one guest locomotive in the form of Class 14 Teddy Bear D9551 from the Severn Valley Railway. The first member of its class to visit the line. The highlight of the event was the return to steam of Neilson & Co 0-4-0ST 2937 after a 43 year long overhaul, this event was its first steamings since completion of its overhaul. The engine has been immaculately turned out in its original William Baird & Co. Ltd livery. This video was filmed on the first and last weekends of the event, with footage filmed at the event on the 23rd, 24th and 30th August. Most of the footage was filmed by myself, mostly on my camcorder, apart from one clip filmed on my Huawei P20. But there is also some footage in this video filmed by my dad. The footage was filmed on various vantage points along the line. Despite late running, and a points failure, which occured on the very first day of the event. Which threw the timetable out of the window for that day. This was still a good gala to have attended, some great variety of shots and movements were filmed. A well done to everyone at the railway involved in hosting this event. I'm sure I'll be returning to the railway again some time in the future. Facebook:   / class47peter   Instagram:   / class47peter
