Thank you for watching! ·•—–٠✤٠—–•· What you will see below is my personal yapping space for an AU I thought of while in the shower lol (I also put it at the end of the video but I'll put it here too) So, I've really wanted to incorporate Player once working in the factory, but I also wanted an explanation for why he's surviving all the insane things that the toys are putting him through. A normal person (well one with no protagonist power) would normally not survive what he's going through right? And if he was a scientist or a regular worker back then, he wouldn't really survive this far today, right? Also, he doesn't really have any reason as to why he came back to the factory. Guilt, perhaps, but is that really where it ends? He's so saintly he'd do all that just to alleviate his survivor's guilt? So, I thought, imagine if Player was involved during the Hour of Joy, albeit not intentionally involved... (Well it could be intentional but I've got no intention with doing that LOL) He'd begin as a worker who isn't exactly related to the scientific shenanigans occurring in the factory, but he's there, somewhat aware of the crimes they're doing. He'd never intervene because why would he anyway? He was simply a bystander. Well, he was only a bystander until he became a bit more involved due to circumstances. Now this is where the angst comes in; he'd be a subject to the experiments. They've only tested children, so why not try it with adults? Its risky, but possible if there are employees that would tolerate what they see. Just find one who seems to have utmost respect toward the company—enough to agree and be lenient with everything, including being experimented on. Unfortunately, Player absolutely hits the mark of a loyal employee, and according to Sawyer, he also has every potential to become more than what he is now. So bla bla, got experimented on, gained a few superpowers but it eventually kind of failed (like not up to par with what the others expected) and he just simply became one of the employees who are somewhat in-charge with the toys. What I meant for that is he'd be a morally detached doctor for newly experimented children. He's not innocent at all, and with what they did, he eventually would lose that last shred of humanity in exchange for survival. How he got involved with the hour of joy is still something I'm thinking about currently though. It's canon that the prototype started it and I'm not changing that since he has every right to do so lol with his pent up anger. I'm leaning toward the fact that Player was there within the facility, and he could have done something to prevent so much death, but he didn't. (This means that he was a failed 'attempted' prototype.) It was an opportunity to escape. And so he did. Now during the time of him being out he just pretty much lived normally since there weren't any big changes toward his body that altered anything big... I'd say he's strong and durable, but other than that, it's probably the only thing I'll give him for his powers lol. I mean he's thrown around everywhere and is still kicking! So after years of hiding (to nobody since lmfao everyone's dead), he's back to the factory. He's aware of the struggles of the orphans and he genuinely felt guilty about it enough to return and re-investigate the true story. I know I said that Player worked as one of those morally fucked up scientists but he wasn't in his right mind to bother with the files. Don't get me wrong, my player absolutely knows about his faults and mistakes. He's well aware the children wouldn't forgive him and he isn't asking for forgiveness anyway. He just wanted to help, somewhat. But that help of his ended up killing them more. It's ironic isn't it? His return killed so many of the toys. He feels horrible and is probably depressed by now at this point. Just knowing that what he's fighting against are souls of dead angry children makes it worse lmao. He can't leave the facility dead and he can't just allow himself to be killed, so it came to that result. ·•—–٠✤٠—–•· Now it might seem like Player is a heartless piece of shit but genuinely he isn't, I don't want to make him a damsel in distress nor do I want to make him a monster with no heart. He's flawed but he's got empathy and he cares a lot for these guys... It's just, well, the toys themselves don't even remember their past so they don't want the help. (Poppy knows but also Mommy Longlegs, I made her be aware of her identity as Marie. But other than that, the rest of their memories are a blur.)
