In June, the city of Moyobamba, located in the Department of San Martín, celebrates Tourism Week, showcasing its customs, traditions, gastronomy, and culture. This week is dedicated to promoting and revaluing local customs and traditions. During this time, the city also celebrates the Festivals of Saint John, Saint Peter, and Saint Paul, when thousands of citizens take to the streets to joyfully celebrate and dance to the infectious rhythm of the Pandilla Dance. This challenging but rewarding journey of over 7 km takes approximately 2 hours, culminating at the San Mateo Hot Springs, where the Blessed Bath is reenacted and the delicious dish Juane is enjoyed.
