Gambian President Adama Barrow visited China last week, with both China and the Gambia vowing to boost bilateral ties in various areas. The two countries resumed diplomatic relations in 2016 after their severance 20 years ago when the African nation was engaged in a so-called diplomatic relationship with China's Taiwan.
