Greenwood Slag + Chimney (BC, Boundary)

The abandoned mining areas of Greenwood, BC and the surrounding area provide fantastic opportunities for exploring. The nearby Motherlode mine was the main source of the giant slag pile which still sits like a fortress as you enter Greenwood. Historically, the area was more in the town of Anaconda but the border between it and Greenwood is now indistinguishable. After exploring the unearthly terrain of the slag and 'hells bells', just up the hill is the Anaconda smelter which has even more exploring opportunities culminating in the giant chimney made of nearly 250,000 hand placed bricks!
