BADLANDS, day 2: Gor to La Isleta del Moro

Day 2 Start: 07:40 (Monday September 5th) Stop: 03:11 (Tuesday September 6th) Km 265 - Km 526 Race Report Badlands 2022 (by Gert) Day 2 After a few hours of sleep under in a portal of the local Pharmacy we ate our own breakfast and decided to leave before the shops opened. A remote stretch of 120K ahead of us with a long steep climb to start. Until the highest point of the tour (Calar Alto) is was mainly going up. After a fast descent, interrupted by a few short gravel climbs we arrived in Gergal for lunch. We had to ride the next section (Tabernas Desert) during the hottest hours of the day but we arrived in Tabernas and we could re-supply for the evening in which we had to ride a long climb towards Nijar. Around midnight we arrived there but this time all restaurants were closed. We decided to try to get at the beach (La Isleta del Moro). A nice idea but the wind was blowing hard and after 90 minutes of resting it started to rain so immediately we packed our stuff and moved on.
