Ice Age Kane - Plains, Kames, & Moraines
In this series, we investigate Ice Age Kane County, in northeastern Illinois. In this first video of this series, we examine the Ice Age glaciation and post-glacial processes that created the many geomorphic features of Kane County in the Pleistocene Epoch, tens to hundreds of thousands of years ago, featuring the recent research of Dr Brandon Curry, of the Illinois State Geological Survey. These features include Kames, Eskers, Moraines, and the more recently described Ice-Walled Lake Plains, the largest of which is Glacial Lake Pingree, 13 miles long by 6 miles wide, in north-central Kane County.
