Returning to her role as a concubine, Khun Choi, who possessed a unique style of mellow palace-style cooking, began to feel intrusive in the kitchen. This was fueled by Thongsamlee's fiery, spicy Southern Thai cuisine. Both Khun Choi and Thongsamlee sought out ingredients and created exquisite dishes using their ladle to win her husband's heart. Later, Thongsamlee became pregnant, and Khun Choi followed suit. Thongsamlee gave birth to a daughter named Wad in the kitchen, amidst the fiery atmosphere of pounding curry paste. Khun Choi, in labor, experienced labor pains while overseeing a servant stirring coconut sugar, amidst the fragrant and sweet atmosphere of On. However, she suffered severe blood loss and died, leaving Khun Luang deeply saddened and angry at On, accusing him of being an omen for the death of his beloved wife. Years later, the two siblings, On and Wad, grew up and eventually had the opportunity to enter the palace with Khun Krun, Khun Choi's relative and representative from Her Royal Highness Princess Saisavali Bhirombhakdi. There, they trained and learned royal cooking. On and Wad met Khun Lert, a young man who was training to be a royal page and a close friend of Khun Kla. The eldest son of Choi and Sin, an 18-year-old Chinese-American boy. On and Wad learn about life, both good and bad, through their carefully crafted cooking. Through their lives and important national events, food is considered an essential driving force, empowering people with both physical and mental strength through their cooking.
