Spotlight Mainstage 26

Spotlight Gabby Ireneo, a student director for Soul Purpose and a 2nd-year member, puts on a dynamic all-company piece for this year's Mainstage. Dancing since she was 7, she has danced with two different studios before becoming a member of Soul Purpose. Competing in multiple dance competitions, taking many classes, and dancing with different choreographers, she was inspired to create a high-energy, soulful piece, taking inspiration from the moves of Michael Jackson. Similar to the song, the purpose of this piece was to highlight the connection and unity she felt towards her current members. Just like the song suggests, this piece serves as a reminder of the importance to always show unconditional support in one's life, and to be someone's anchor through the good and bad. She thanks her team for the loyalty and love of friendship that still remained no matter what hardship was gone through. Utilizing the lighting, she artistically showcases each individual in their own way, giving each a time for them to shine. Now, here is, "Spotlight."
