CIVIL WAR BATTLE OF PERRYVILLE! REENACTMENT CANDIDS! HISTORY!
The Civil War Battle of Perryville took place on October 8, 1862. This video was filmed at the reenactment, 160 years, and one day later. Many of us have seen Civil War battle reenactments, but what we often miss is all the activity before and after the actual battle. These moments give us insights on what our own ancestors experienced. We see the way they lived, the items they used, the foods they ate, and their day to day life. This video is a compilation of candid video clips that were filmed during the day of the reenactment. As you watch the clips, we encourage you to look into the soldier’s eyes, read their faces, wonder what they are thinking, and why they took arms for what they thought was right. Like in the real battle, you will see the numbers are much larger in the Union Army than they are in the Confederate Army. This video is unlike any that we have ever done at Family Tree Nuts, and does not discuss the events and logistics of the battle. This video captures the experience of the soldiers themselves and we think will help you understand the experiences of your veteran ancestors.
