SARAH VAUGHAN I REMEMBER CLIFFORD (Benny Golson) LIVE IN PRAGUE 1978

Sarah Vaughan was not called 'The Divine One' for nothing. Her most obvious gift was always her powerful voice. Her vocal range stretched from true female baritone lows to mezzo soprano highs. As she aged, her voice deepened. The dynamic range, tonal quality and sheer beauty of her voice were near operatic. This recording of "I Remember Clifford" written by Benny Golson was from a famous concert in Prague in 1978. This is a great example of Sarah Vaughan fearlessly exploiting her vocal range and amazing tone to the fullest. The flugelhorn in the background is played by her husband at the time, Waymon Reed. To the best of my knowledge this concert is only available on DVD. Enjoy! Thank You for your comments.
