Conferencia de Ignacio Ramonet sobre las estrategias de la nueva extrema derecha

On February 24, in the Che Guevara Room at Casa de las Américas, Ignacio Ramonet, a Spanish journalist and writer, gave a lecture entitled "Strategies of the New Far Right to Seize Power." Ignacio Ramonet (Redondela, Pontevedra, 1943), PhD in Semiology and History of Culture from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in journalism. From 1990 to 2008, he directed the French edition of Le Monde diplomatique, and since then, the Spanish edition of the publication. A co-founder of the non-governmental organization Media Watch Global (International Media Observatory), founder and honorary president of the Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and Citizen Action, he is one of the promoters of the World Social Forum in Porto Alegre.
