This 104-Yr-Old Illinois pocket watch was dead on arrival!! It wasn't ticking even though the balance wheel was rotating nicely. How? This posh watch (it has gold-plated screws!) is aptly named the "Fifth Avenue" and it reminded me of the wealth that exploded onto the scene in New York City (Gilded Age) where business titans built extravagant mansions to declare that they had arrived.
