We arrived in Cairns expecting sunshine, tropical beaches, and the Great Barrier Reef… but Mother Nature had other plans. From rough seas and rain to missing our tour bus and even having our train hit by a car, this became one of the most unexpected adventures of our Australian trip. Despite all the mishaps, we experienced the incredible Great Barrier Reef, rode the breathtaking Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, explored the charming village of Kuranda, watched traditional Aboriginal performances, tried throwing boomerangs and spears, and finished the day aboard the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway.
