Maarten De Splenter - Concerto Comenia: Part 1 [1/4]

The opening section of Concerto Comenia introduces the main motives and theme, which reappear throughout the entire work. Composed in 2006 and revised in 2011 for soloist Pieter Pellens and the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides, this piece remains one of my earliest classical compositions. In 2006, I had the honor of performing part of this concerto as a soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Conservatory of Ghent, conducted by my composition teacher, Maestro Dirk Brossé. Two years later, I performed the full concerto during my saxophone master’s recital with 'Het Houtlands Harmonieorkest' (BE), conducted by one of the most influential figures of my musical journey, Nico Logghe. This concerto is dedicated to my saxophone teacher, Frank Commeene, who inspired and guided me for over a decade. ℗ 2014 WORLD WIND MUSIC Album: 'Belgian Music for Alto Saxophone and Wind Band' Soloist: Pieter Pellens Orchestra: The Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides Conductor: Yves Segers Listen online on Spotify and Apple Music: ➡️ https://open.spotify.com/track/64Xlsk... ➡️ https://music.apple.com/be/album/belg...
