LORD, Don't let me forget that YOU are the source of ALL GOOD | Daily Prayer | 1/18/2026

Heavenly Father, I come before You humbled, my soul stretched open wide with yearning—to love You above all, to seek Your heart more than anything Your hands provide. You are the Giver of every good and perfect gift, yet far more precious than anything this world could offer or my flesh could desire. Forgive me, Lord, for the times I’ve longed more for Your blessings than for Your beautiful presence. Like a wanderer mesmerized by reflections on water, I’ve been drawn to the shimmer of Your gifts while missing the shining face of the Giver. Shift my gaze, Lord, from what fills my hands to the overwhelming splendor of who You are. You formed the stars with a breath, designed the oceans with a whisper, and yet You choose to dwell within me. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” (Psalm 24:1) Let me honor You not just as the Maker of all, but as the One who holds my heart in loving hands. You are more desirable than gold refined by fire, more treasured than the pearls buried deep beneath the sea. When You bless me, let my joy rise not in the gift itself, but in the intimacy of the One who gave it. When You withhold, help me remember that You’ve never withheld Yourself—and You are more than enough. Jesus, my Savior, You gave everything—Your blood, Your breath, Your body—just to be near me. The cross is not just a bridge to heaven but a mirror reflecting the love that makes all earthly gain seem cheap. Just as the rich young ruler stood torn between treasure and truth, teach me to choose You without hesitation. Let my worship not echo the cries of those seeking what they can gain, but the reverence of those who know You alone are worthy. Tear down every idol, every hidden temple in the corner of my heart that dares to rival You. Refine my desires like silver tested in the furnace, until what remains is a singular longing: to dwell in Your presence forever. “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27) Lead me, Lord, as the Good Shepherd leads His flock—gentle in hand, fierce in love, always present. Let me cling to You as Ruth clung to Naomi, saying, “Where You go, I will go,” because nothing compares to being near You. Not just my hands, but my whole life I offer back to You—my praise birthed not from abundance but from grace. Like Paul in prison who sang hymns at midnight, may my mouth release praise regardless of circumstance. Anchor me firmly in You, Jesus, the solid rock, the treasure buried in the field for which I joyfully give all else away. Help me remember that even if I gain the world and lose You, I have lost everything, but with You, I have it all. Let my gratitude not depend on the day’s blessings but on the eternal truth that I am Yours and You are mine. Let me be like Mary, who chose the better part, sitting at Your feet when the world demanded she be busy doing. Make my heart like the widow who gave all she had—not because she had much, but because she had You. You are my portion, my prize, my paradise.
