This Can’t Be Right! Van Life Just Got Expensive In Stratford

Our motorhome adventure in stratford upon avon town centre park up, the perfect stopover. Typical for the Travelling Travins — or the Travelling Twats when things go spectacularly wrong — took a very unexpected turn in Stratford-upon-Avon. #VanlifeUK #StratfordUponAvon #MotorhomeLife We booked 3 nights for £35 at the Bridgeway Lorry Park, tucked behind the Stratford Leisure Centre on Bridgeway, CV37 6YX. It’s a popular overnight spot with 9 designated motorhome bays, but when we arrived, every single one was full. The only empty spaces were the coach bays directly beside them, so we parked there temporarily before moving into a free motorhome bay later that night. All seemed fine… until New Year’s Day, when we discovered a £70 parking ticket stuck to the windscreen. Issued on New Year’s Eve, found on 1st January — classic Travelling Travins luck. We took a freezing walk into town via Bridge Foot and along the River Avon, exploring the historic centre of Stratford-upon-Avon before retreating back to the warmth of the van. The night before, we’d treated ourselves to an Uber Eats from GBK Burger in Warwick, because even vanlifers deserve a New Year’s Eve feast. But the chaos didn’t stop there. On 2nd January, wiffee stepped out of our Chausson X650, slipped on black ice, and landed hard on her elbow. At that point, we’d fully transformed into the Travelling Twats.
