Fong is generous in sharing his knowledge and experience with others on the subject of cyber security, and has contributed towards raising the public’s awareness by teaching simple and effective preventative measures. Fong was awarded the 2013 ASEAN Chief Information Security Officer (CSO) of the Year by the International Data Group (IDG), and the 2017 Cyber Security Professional of the Year by CyberSecurity Malaysia.
