Sages femmes Indispensables dans chaque crise

Since January 2025, Burundi has seen a significant influx of refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo. These refugees have been grouped in Rugombo, in the province of Cibitoke. As a result, the demand for healthcare services has risen considerably, particularly for sexual, reproductive, maternal, neonatal, infant and adolescent health care in the health facilities located close to the regrouping areas. The Burundian government, through the Ministry of Public Security, has called to all those involved in humanitarian crises to lend their support in managing this situation. In response to this appeal, the Association Nationale des Sages-Femmes du Burundi (ANASAF-Kira Mama) has dispatched volunteer midwives to health facilities close to the affected areas, notably the Rugombo health center, the Ruhagarika health center and the Cibitoke hospital. Their mission is to reinforce local teams in the provision of SRMNIA care.
