2014 Pebble Beach Concours Ken Vendley Production / Motorscape International

Every year in August Motorscape attempts to capture the essence and spirit of the world famous Pebble beach Concours d'Elegance. This mission is a challenging task for Pebble is so large and Comprehensive that it requiers and extra effert to presents it all in its entirety. The 2014 shows program easily lived up to its expectation by again offering a number of highlights, features such as saluting the famed Ferrari Testarossa with 46 of them on display showing the awe of it all with some LeMans winners and one owned by Ralph Lauren. Then its to equally meaningful feature which was 100 years Maserati with another large spread of street and racing car, mostly all red as well. This lead to a intimate showing of Steam Cars. "Ever heard of a Steen or Stanhope Steamer, not Stanley but 2 were there as well?" Every year Pebble features the styling and design of a majot Coach Builder and 2014 it was Fernandez and Darren of Paris. Amoung the many simples of there work on display were 2 which stood out they were for the historicly noted Rothchild Family, one for the man and one for the woman. Next to that presentation was another highlight, the Czechoslovakian TATRA automobile. Remarkable it is an air cooled rear engined V8 powered, quite revolutionary. Also 1914 German and Grand Prix cars were shown along with Ruxton automobiles rounded out the special features. Beyond that its a vast field of automobiles of all ages, styles makes of many countrys that make up all the catagories for competition leading to the best of show. About this a hint! the winning car was the first in Pebble Beach history to be from the post war history and was designed and built by Sergio Scagliuetti and was owned by Roberto Rossellini. Like we said its an effort and you will get it all if you stay to the very end of the show you will be rewarded by a TestarossaTraffic Jam... Ken Vendley
