Kali The Polar Bear Eating Fish And Swimming At The St. Louis Zoo Polar Bear Point Habitat - Fun! We had just finished our Behind-The-Scenes tour of the Penguin and Puffin Coast area at the St. Louis Zoo, and decided to check out the McDonnell Polar Bear Point habitat. We picked a great time to go, because Kali (prounounced "Cully") the polar bear was outside playing and swimming in the pool. There were fish at the bottom of the pool for Kali to eat, and we got to watch as he swam down right by the glass, picked one up, and ate it! There were quite a few people there that got to witness this, and it was the first time we personally had ever seen this. It was very cool, and our grandson had a front row seat right by Kali as it all happened! We were also very thankful to Pat, a volunteer worker at the Zoo, who happened to be there, and gave us a lot of good information about Kali's history. You never know what you'll see when you go to the St. Louis Zoo, and this was another one of those special moments that happen unexpectedly. We were in the right place at the right time.
