However, when we pray, "Forgive us our sins," we often regard the object of the sin as "us" or "others," excluding ourselves. This is when the problem begins. Repenting with the emotion of taking responsibility for our own sins means ceasing to condemn or accuse others. Our repentance must be a confession accomplished by meeting only with God in the wilderness where no one else is present. Not making excuses or blaming others, but acknowledging, confessing, and grieving over the sins and wrongs I have committed exactly as they are. That is a complete confession. If we cannot do so... Rather, repentance for our sins transforms into a sharp weapon that reveals my own righteousness and attacks the faults of others. Let us move forward to a place of confession that completes the restoration of the community, going beyond my personal salvation. ==================================== Rev.
