Woodturning - Log into big vase | White Oak end grain turning.

I got some nice pieces of white oak. I wanted to seal the end grain to let them dry. To give it a try, I already turned one of these pieces into a end grain vase or vessel and hollowed it out to speed up the drying proces. I was also curious if the warping and cracking of the wood would be less if the pith is hollowd out. I started this project at the end of December and finished it in recent days. In between I let it dry with the opening facing down. It seems that my trial is going well and that this vase is going to stay intact. As a sealer I used water-based polyurethane. I saw this idea with Gary (Thepapa1947). He showed that the wood then becomes less yellowish, compared to sanding sealers, oil and waxes. I applied three coats and sanded in between. Finally, I finished the vase on a high gloss with Chestnut "Cut 'n polish" and "Microcrystalline Wax". This vase is 10 inches (25cm) high and hollowed out almost 9 inches (22,5 cm). I couldn't go deeper because I don't have tools for that. The somewhat thicker bottom makes the vase nice and heavy and stable. I would love to hear what you think of this vase and if you have any ideas on how to do the hollowing out better.
