The Downwind Run One of the most famous experiences here is the downwind run from Lagoon Beach to Big Bay, roughly 18 km along the Atlantic coast. Local operator Adrian from DWT Shuttle runs daily downwind shuttles when conditions are good, dropping riders at Lagoon Beach and picking them up back at Big Bay. The run is incredible, but it’s also serious open ocean. Many riders track their session using the SafeTrx app from the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) so their location is known while they’re on the water.
