Inside Australia’s Most Luxurious Gym and Health Club

Inside Australia’s most luxurious gym reveals a new benchmark for wellness design, where architecture, interiors and performance facilities combine to create a holistic environment for health, recovery and community. Located in Brisbane, Total Fusion Platinum redefines the traditional fitness centre by blending Olympic-level training spaces with spa-like amenities and carefully considered architectural design. Conceived as an immersive wellness destination rather than a conventional gym, the project explores how thoughtful spatial planning and materiality can elevate the everyday ritual of exercise. Designed by ACME with interiors by Cavcorp, the six-level facility occupies a prominent position within Brisbane’s urban fabric, offering more than 9,000 square metres dedicated to movement, recovery and social connection. The experience begins in a grand atrium where a multi-storey tree anchors the space beneath a skylight, establishing a calm and welcoming arrival sequence. From this central point, a network of carefully curated environments unfolds, guiding members through training areas, wellness spaces and communal zones. The project positions itself firmly inside Australia’s most luxurious gym through an approach that treats wellbeing as a complete sensory experience rather than a single activity. Throughout the interior, curved forms, natural materials and soft lighting create a calm yet energising atmosphere. Rather than relying on the typical open-plan gym layout, the architecture divides the expansive floor plates into a series of distinct zones. Each space is scaled to the individual, ensuring privacy and focus while maintaining visual connections across the building. This layered approach reinforces the concept of moving through different stages of training, rest and recovery inside Australia’s most luxurious gym. The training facilities themselves are extensive, incorporating specialised equipment, dedicated studios and performance areas that support a wide range of disciplines. Strength and cardio spaces sit alongside Pilates studios, functional training zones and climbing walls, offering flexibility for both casual users and elite athletes. Entire levels are devoted to therapies such as cold plunge pools, saunas, float tanks and salt caves, ensuring that recovery is embedded into the daily rhythm of the building. Above the training floors, rooftop amenities extend the experience outdoors. A magnesium pool, thermal bathing areas and landscaped terraces create a resort-like environment overlooking the city. Adjacent dining spaces and lounges further reinforce the social dimension of the project, transforming the facility into a destination where members can spend extended periods of time. This integration of lifestyle, health and architecture positions the development firmly inside Australia’s most luxurious gym, where physical wellbeing is balanced with relaxation and connection. By merging high-performance training infrastructure with carefully crafted interiors and hospitality-inspired spaces, the facility establishes a new model for contemporary wellness. Through spatial clarity, rich materiality and an emphasis on community, the experience of moving through the building captures the essence of being inside Australia’s most luxurious gym. 00:00 - Introduction to Australia’s Most Luxurious Gym and Health Club 00:35 - The Brief 01:05 - Design Approach 01:48 - The Tree of Life 02:54 - Walkthrough of the Club 04:25 - Rooftop Meeting Place 04:45 - The Seven Senses 05:55 - Materiality For more from The Local Project: Instagram –   / thelocalproject   Website – https://thelocalproject.com.au/ LinkedIn –   / the-local-project-publication   Print Publication – https://thelocalproject.com.au/public...
