Por que você enxerga SUJEIRINHAS flutuando nos olhos?

Have you ever noticed small "worms" in your field of vision that mysteriously disappear when you try to focus on them? Don't worry, you're not crazy, and there are no parasites in your eye. The phenomenon is scientifically known as muscae volitantes (Latin for "flying flies"). The discomfort caused by these flying flies is called myodesopsia. Flying flies are small "objects" such as bits of tissue, proteins, or cells that enter the eyeball and cast shadows on the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. Controlled by the vitreous, a gelatinous and transparent fluid that fills our eyeball, these tiny particles move along with the liquid. So, wherever the eyeball moves, the flying flies follow. If you want to try focusing on these eye floaters, find a uniform background to see them, such as a blank computer screen or a clear sky. Nevertheless, it's a challenging task. Seeing these eye floaters is common. However, be alert: consult a doctor if flying flies constantly disrupt your vision, if the problem suddenly increases overnight, or if there are any signs of bleeding.
