Why a WITCHER Can Never Truly "Go Home" | Architecture for Healing

What kind of home would someone build after a lifetime spent preparing for danger? In this video, I explore the idea of designing a home for a retired Witcher — not as a fortress for survival, but as a place for healing, reflection, and cautious reconnection with the world. What started as a fantasy architecture project slowly became something much more personal: a study of fear, isolation, hyper-vigilance, and what it means to slowly let people back into your life. Using sketches, Revit modeling, renderings, and walkthroughs, I designed a home that balances solitude and community, protection and openness, retreat and companionship. The project evolved from a defensive wilderness refuge into a quieter architecture centered around courtyards, shared spaces, natural light, and emotional recovery. This isn’t really a video about fantasy lore. It’s about the spaces we build around ourselves emotionally… and what happens when we finally want to step beyond them. If you’ve ever spent too long in survival mode, I hope this project resonates with you.
