Join us for a walk in Kioni, Ithaca, Greece. Ithaca, Ithaki or Ithaka (Ιθάκη) is a Greek island located in the Ionian Sea, off the northeast coast of Kefalonia and to the west of mainland Greece. Kioni lies in the northeast of the Greek island of Ithaca, 24 km from Vathy. Kioni is one of Ithaca’s most beautiful villages and one of the most stunning destinations in the Ionian Sea. As you approach Kioni, you are greeted by the sight of its small, beautiful bay and by the traditional, well-maintained houses built in the amphitheatre rising from the sea and surrounded by woodlands and hillsides. If you arrive at Kioni by road from Vathy, you enter the village at its highest point, Rachi. As you descend into Kioni towards the harbour and the bay, you will be met with a beautiful view of olive trees, cypress trees, and the red-tiled roofs that peek from amongst the lush foliage. Kioni Ithaca has grown rapidly into a busy and modern tourist resort, with many cafes and tavernas lining the picturesque harbour. Kioni bay and harbour are filled with sailing boats of all sizes, jostling for space among the small boats of the local fisherman. Kioni Bay is positioned in the northeast of the Greek island of Ithaca, around the bay from the village of Kioni. Kioni village has remained relatively unspoiled by major tourist development. Kioni village has been characterised as a 'traditional settlement' and therefore strict planning rules apply. Kioni Bay is a popular destinations for sailing boats. Thanks for watching!
