Cines Embajadores is a cultural project in the heart of Arganzuela, Madrid, that shows that neighborhood cinemas can not only survive in the streaming era but also be a driving force for community. In a former bank office converted into welcoming theaters, exhibitor Miguel Ángel Pérez decided to go against the grain: no advertising, no vending machines, no large multiplexes. Just cinema and people. Far from seeing digitalization as a threat, Cines Embajadores is committed to a personal model: direct service at the box office to ensure seniors aren't left out, hassle-free ticket refunds, and a carefully curated program that combines national premieres, independent films, and international offerings. This has created a space where different generations come together—film lovers, families, and retired neighbors—who find something increasingly rare here: a place to be together. The value of this cinema is measured in the everyday stories: the elderly couple who come weekly, the small, impromptu film forum among strangers as they leave the theater. This initiative shows that reviving the shared experience of cinema also helps to regenerate community, neighborhood, and social fabric. More and more people are choosing a different kind of bank because they know it's possible to transform the world through money. That's why, with the money you save and invest at Triodos Bank, we only finance social, environmental, and cultural projects. Cines Embajadores is one of them. Because another way of doing banking is possible. #NeighborhoodCinema #CommunityCulture #IndependentCinema #SocialEconomy #TriodosBank #AmbassadorCinemas #Madrid
