Although it's not a native species, it is common throughout Poland. It's not without reason that the male pheasant is called a rooster ;) His call closely resembles the call of a breeding rooster, although the wild one is accompanied by the typical flapping of wings that can be heard every time the pheasant calls. This call is intended to attract females and is uttered during mating. The female (called a hen) calls in a quiet, muffled voice, rarely noticed or heard by observers. A disturbed male also emits a series of rapid cries (just like a startled hen in a henhouse) as it takes flight when something spooks it. Then, it screams after taking off, flies a considerable distance, and silently scuttles along the ground. And it must be admitted that it is an exceptionally fast and agile sprinter, and it's not easy to keep up with it :) #forestdeliverytoadużegopokoju #dailyforestportion #EchaLeśne #uchemprzyrodnika @Ministry of the Environment The recordings are from the "Jaki to ptak" album series.
