On Todo Pasa, we spoke with Miguel Savage, a Falklands War survivor, who shared a profoundly human account of his experiences in the war. He recalled not only the moments and people who helped him endure in that extreme context, but also the abandonment and inhumane treatment he suffered at the hands of the Argentine military. "The commanders were that dictatorship. While we had young officers who were good people, the logistics and overall responsibility were nonexistent on the part of the high command, who slept in houses in town and ate solid food," he recounted. "We spent two months surviving in extreme conditions, in frozen trenches, without solid food. I lost 22 kilos (58 pounds)... The dictatorship was one of our enemies. We had three: the weather, the British, and our commanders." "The Falklands War isn't just about the war; it's an unacceptable colonial situation," he stated.
