A trio of inmates escape a New Mexico jail with the help of a guard; NM Crime Files

In this episode, KRQE Anchors Dean Staley and Jessica Garate take a look at three different cases that all fall under the description of reckless. From immediate retaliation through open fire when confronted to escaping from jail with the help of a guard. The first crime features a repeat offender and convicted burglar, Miranda Gilbert, as she threatens Bill and Carolyn Thompson with a gun outside of their home. Gilbert's bullet barely missed Carolyn Thompson. In court, she blamed drugs for her actions and asked the couple for forgiveness before being sentenced for 15 years in prison. Later in the episode, Dean and Jessica discuss the Ruben De La O case from 2021, where he shoots at a Silver City police officer, Stephen Laramore. The gunman ambushed Laramore when he approached De La O's vehicle at a traffic stop. He was charged with attempted murder. The third case covered in this episode is an escape from Curry County detention center, where three inmates, 31-year-old Aaron Clark, 24-year-old Ricky Sena, and 28-year-old Victor Apodaca, walked out of the jail, with the help of detention officer Sarina Dodson. Five days later, the inmates were found hiding in an apartment not far from the detention center.
