Porter's value chain is a tool that allows us to describe an organization's structure as a set of processes. The value chain, thanks to the separation between primary and support activities, allows us to identify the characteristics of each company process and, consequently, to identify its competitive advantage. Primary activities: Internal logistics; Operations; External logistics; Marketing and sales; Services. Support activities: Company infrastructure; Human resource management; Technology development; Procurement. Of course, this model also has limitations as it is primarily designed for large companies, but with the appropriate adaptations, it can also be useful for smaller companies.
