Retried on appeal since March 16, alongside nine other co-defendants, in the case of the alleged Libyan financing of his 2007 presidential campaign, the former head of state has faced a sentence of seven years in prison, a €300,000 fine, and a five-year ban from holding public office. This is exactly the same sentence that was requested in the first trial. The verdict is expected on November 30.
