Let's go for a drive in the VW Thing! Because everyone loves a Volkswagen Thing. Seriously, the Thing puts a smile on my face instantly. It's a car that has a cult following for all the right reasons. It's fun, it's carefree, and Ralph Nader ran it off. In the states the Volkswagen Thing was released to the market in 1973, it was popular to the youth market and it was actually more expensive than a Beetle at the time.. Now it would be short-lived affair in the states.. As many cars were driven out and ceased to the imported without safety standards of the time. The Volkswagen Type 181/182 AKA the Thing (but in Indonesia known at the Camat, the Safari in Mexico/South America, and the Trekker in the UK!) – These cool Volkswagen things were built from 1968 to 1983, originally to serve military purposes but in 1971 they were then built for civilian use. #TheBadBlonde #VW #Thing If you enjoy car and automotive history, then you should stay tuned!
