In this episode of #TheTalkContinues, we take you on a historical and artistic journey with Professor Dr. Yasmine Farag, Professor of Music Criticism at the Academy of Arts, to discuss her book, "Musical Theater in Egypt: From Its Beginnings to the End of the 20th Century." The episode explores the roots of musical theater, which extend back to ancient Egyptian civilization, and how the art form spread from the Levant to Egypt through the work of Al-Qabbani and Iskandar Farah. On May 31, 1934, the voice of announcer Ahmed Salem was broadcast, saying, "This is Cairo. This is the official inauguration of the Egyptian government's wireless radio station." This was done in agreement with the Marconi Company. However, in 1947, the contract with Marconi was canceled. The number of Egyptian radio stations initially was four, and it has now reached ten.
