✅ DIY Screw Wood Chipper – No Lathe Needed!

You've seen several wood chippers on our channel already, but this time we built something a bit different. This screw-style chipper is much easier to fabricate — no lathe needed! The main screw was made using a 35 mm steel shaft and 5 mm thick steel plates. The housing is a 160 mm diameter steel pipe with ~5 mm wall thickness. In the test, it handled 4–5 cm thick branches effortlessly. It could likely manage even bigger ones, but we didn’t want to push it too far and risk damage. Powering the chipper is a 3 kW (4 HP) electric motor spinning at 1400 RPM. The gearbox reduces speed by a factor of 7, resulting in a final shaft speed of 200 RPM. Perfect for DIYers looking to shred branches without specialized tools.    • DIY Forklift – Hydraulic Lift Attachment!   - DIY Tractor Forklift – Hydraulic Lift Attachment!    • Making an Incredible Trike With Car Wheels   - Man Builds Incredible Trike With Car Wheels    • Sheet Metal Rolling Bender - Build   - Sheet Metal Rolling Bender - Build    • Making Simple Shredder Machine   - Making Simple Shredder Machine
