Saint Frassati (Original version with subtitles)

Born into an upper-middle-class Italian family, the son of the editor of the major newspaper La Stampa, Pier Giorgio spent his time helping those in need in the poor neighborhoods of Turin. In a period marked by the rise of fascism in Italy, he also became involved in politics and worked for greater social justice. He drew the energy necessary for his commitments from his relationship with Christ and his intense life of prayer. Surrounded by loved ones, he shared his faith and passions with his close friends. An athlete and lover of the mountains, he did not hesitate to take his friends “to the heights.” Pier Giorgio Frassati died at the age of 24, following an illness he contracted from a poor family. On May 20, 1990, he was proclaimed blessed by Pope John Paul II, who gave this young man the title of “the man of the 8 Beatitudes.” In 2016, a documentary about him was made. Since then, he was canonized on September 7, 2025, alongside Carlo Acutis. To contact us: [email protected] NFG_16_05_EN_' Made by Chemin Neuf Community and « Net for God ».
