*TOGA MAX POWER* HEAVY TAKEOFF FROM HOT DENVER | American Airlines Airbus A321-231 ~ KDEN/DEN

Talk about the edge of a performance limit... (this was literally our max weight to operate out of Denver TO THE POUND) On my way to Virginia, instead of taking a simple 2 leg journey, after thinking options through, I decided to take a more complex route to get some more content uploaded. I searched every domestic routing possible from Tucson to Richmond. I eventually found a 4 flight route that connected in DEN. I immediately snagged this as I knew 100% that DEN-CLT on an A321 with 150 or so pax would use full thrust. The Philadelphia flight which was scheduled to leave at the same time that we were got delayed almost 12 hours and all the passengers rebooked onto the more ontime DFW and CLT flights. During boarding, our delay got pushed back to 45 minutes which completely destroyed my connection time in Charlotte. This was because we couldnt get performance numbers for our unexpedly high weight at the 90°f weather, as the regulated take off weight was too low. We had to wait 30 minutes for it to cool down by one degree so our engines could take us off. If we had an ex-US Airways bird with IAEs, we wouldve left on time with the use of “Thrust Bump,” an option to bump the TO/GA power by 6.5%, only available for use in LAS, PHX, RNO, and DEN. This is still something I want to experience though it is very rare and only used on a really hot day in a really heavy A321. It costs 7 times that of a normal takeoff and greatly reduces engine life. Anyways, the takeoff sound was amazing and the thrust reduction made my tight connection worth it. Before spool up, the camera may have small shakes due to my heart beats - I was literally panicking to get a good video. We used up a massive amount of runway and slowly climbed out of bumpy Denver.
