LIRR: PM Rush Hour Action at Forest Hills (May 2026 - Pre-Strike) (M7 / M9 / DE30AC / DM30AC)

Taken 5/13/25. Seen here are several trains on the Long Island Railroad making their way past Forest Hills to various locations. Service along the Long Island Rail Road was suspended for three days from May 16th - 19th, 2026 due to a labor strike. This came after failed contract negotiations between the MTA and unionized workers – the first strike on the railroad in more than 30 years. Forest Hills is currently undergoing renovations, to increase the platform length from 6 cars to 10 cars. New exits will be added to Ascan Avenue, and snow melt systems will be added to the platforms. Fleet seen here: Bombardier M7s Kawasaki M9s EMD DE30ACs EMD DM30ACs
