This is all about having special types of routing for certain types of traffic. PBR gives you the ability to override the default behavior of the routing table. Policy-based routing gives you the ability to direct traffic selectively based on its type. You can set rules that allow you to override the default behavior of the routing table, which is a critical capability for a number of performance and security reasons.
